Walking the halls of the Louvre, a memory comes to light I've always loved to look and gaze, imagining what went on in the mind of the artist Was this piece simply done for fun? Was it done for profit? Was it done for love? Some of the oils speak to me Some of them simply stare back My senses come alive And I realize the inner artist the one who wants to get out The eye looking through the lens of my camera My self that wants to look back |
This was written as I looked at the photos I took in the Louvre Museum in Paris. Returning to the museum after 30 years gave me a new perspective on the 19 year old that had been there before. Thank you Celia Claase for your artwork, "Contemplating," it just seemed to fit.
