A Familiar Book Again
A chapter in the book New Poems
A New Chapter
by wierdgrace
I touched the sky with my fingertips today
It was with no help from a bird, or a being, But from the honesty of a friend. I'm filled again with loneliness. This time not for being a stranger, but from the cold dark stares That burn through my head and steal my Only sight of sunshine. I danced on a rainbow this evening and Saw the smiles of dreams I once had And will forever keep, and I was filled With the same refreshing feeling of diving Into a cold, crisp lake, waiting for the Chance to open my heart to the happiness Of those around me, yet too broken. I heard the sound of an old friend today, And listened to the soft melody of this Dear person and wept for what I had, And imagined what I may have. I opened up a new chapter in an old Familiar book again and began to read the golden letters of my life. |
