A fantasy poem about the Amazon River.
Pink Dolphins(Botos)
by mermaids
Enchanters of the Amazon,
lure a wayward mermaid, to waters full of life. Their magic entices the Atlantic woman-fish, intrigued by the long snout and shape shifting ways. She observes the deception of humans to become lovers, living forever below the surface. The Encante thrives, magic fills humid air, anacondas, monkeys and piranhas watch, keeping a distance. Mentally, she makes notes, a dolphin swims by, her hand caresses pinkness and smoothness. Enticed to remain, she bids adieu, swims back to a northern home, bringing visions of alluring, pink dolphins. |

I just read a book by Sy Montgomery about pink dolphins. They have a rather long snout and there are many stories about them changing into human form and enticing people to the Encante, a mythological city below the Amazon River.
