Another pleasched poem
Homeward Bound
by Sallyo
Punctuation is lacking, since I WOULD get it wrong.
A whisper of chill shivers over the sea
Whipping the whitecaps to treacherous foam Driving the gulls in a fluster of feathers Stirring the kelp where the mermaidens roam A shudder of hooves thunders over the lea Cracking a whip of a wind-flicking tail A rider of storms in his cloak-hidden leathers Swooping a steed through the moondappled dale Down in the shadows, deep under the loam Glitters a treasure of warriors gone Buried forever, forbidden the sun With bones in the darkness has slumbered so long And hey, have you heard them go twittering home? Their names may be many, but still they are one Time cannot save them, yet they will go on In story and nightmare til time be undone. A whisper of chill shivers over the sea Cracking a whip of a wind-flicking tail Buried forever, forbidden the sun In story and nightmare til time be undone A shudder of hooves thunders over the lea Glitters a treasure of warriors gone Time cannot save them, yet they will go on Stirring the kelp where the mermaidens roam Down in the shadows, deep under the loam Their names may be many, but still they are one Driving the gulls in a fluster of feathers Swooping a steed through the moondappled dale And hey, have you heard them go twittering home? Whipping the whitecaps to treacherous foam A rider of storms in his cloak-hidden leathers With bones in the darkness has slumbered so long. |
