My Father - The Artist

It’s such a placid, peaceful, tranquil lake

With pelicans, ducks, and a single drake

All floating serenely … nature is calm

Relaxing my soul with its soothing balm.

I stare as the scene unfolds its drama …

A breathtaking, beautiful panorama!

As the minutes pass by to end this day

My full heart and soul are compelled to pray.

Joy and praise swell, yet no words are expressed …

Privileged to view this - yes, I am blessed …

The reds and golds paint sky, water, and shore ...

My exultant heart overflows with awe.
