Elevator

by Wojciech Gurak

It wasn’t “Take your child to work day,” yet my Dad was taking me there.

On his day off, his office asked him to come in for half a day due to an emergency.

He told me his office was on the fifth floor and that I’d spend some time in one of the meeting rooms. He also said how I should behave there.

We arrived at the building and entered the lobby.

“Call the elevator,” my Dad said.

“Ok, Dad,” I replied.

I walked to the middle of the lobby and shouted with all my might: “Elevator, come here!”
