A Spring poem

Let Spring Come

Spring Contest Winner

Let Spring come like a romping child,

excitedly with boundless glee,

and let her be escorted by

a scented breeze that teases me.

Let poppies dance in grassy fields

with petals yellow, blue and red

beneath an ever-smiling sun,

a widespread sky whose clouds have fled.

And let Spring wave a magic wand

at trees undressed all winter long.

Let nodes appear, then leafy boughs.

Add nesting birds, their trills and song.

I love to watch Spring rollicking

much like a schoolyard kid at play,

She brings back life, rejuvenates.

Let her remain, extend her stay!
