It feels like I've been here before.
Seems like de'ja' vu.
This house, the windows, the door,
the garden, the scenic view.

Such a strange feeling I'm getting
as I furtively open the gates.
Beautiful flowers and bushes.
So much beauty awaits.

As I stare at my surroundings
long lost memories enter my head.
Faces from so long ago,
so very many years dead.

Trying to remember when I was here.
My body and my mind are so weak.
I find it so hard now to recall things
even the days of the week.


Memories now are returning
as I stand on the lush green lawn.
I'm sure I know where I am now.
This is the house where I was born.


The front door opens wide.
I'm filled with amazement as I peer inside.
Familiar faces and things from the past
My body is tingling, I stare aghast.

My precious loved ones
are surrounding me
all smiling and welcoming
This is where I'm meant to be.

So this is my heaven
I needn't have feared
about what was to come
at the end of my years.
