Homelessness

You try hard not to notice.

You try not to notice, you try not to stare.

You quickly move on, trying to forget that

                                    she's there.

She sits there homeless, with no place to live.

You know you could help her, but you don't

                                    want to give.

You try hard to forget her, but you still see
                                    her face.

You enter your home and you feel out of
                                    place.

You think of your life, knowing there is nothing
                                     you lack.

You feel so ashamed, that you have to turn
                               back.

She smile as she sees you, because she knows
                               that you care.

While it is hard to be homeless, she is happy
                                you're there.
