A poem about saying something awkward

Awkward Self Strikes Again

by 11:17

Awkward Self Strikes Again

Awkwardness is my MO
my awkward self arrives
unwanted and obtrusive
Worst timing ALWAYS

Things were hot and heavy
Your hands on my body
Our tongues dance

We come up for air
words leave my mouth
like clowns tumbling out of a tiny car
There is no wrangling them back in

Our lips meet again
you burst out laughing
I laugh too
then we turn up the heat again
all is not lost

Stupid clowns
creating cuteness
where sexiness was to be
Still, it's me
clowns and all
and he loves my quirky self

This is a poem about words coming out of my mouth before my mind had a chance to revise and edit them. It's good to laugh at ourselves and not take it so seriously.
