Excellent
Not yet exceptional. When the exceptional rating is reached this is highlighted
I'm still and will forever be a work in progress, with Faith

My Life. My Future. My Faith.

by Reese Turner

I can’t explain how I got to this place
Or why I’ve been granted life and love.
Was it luck of the draw? If so, who
Drew for me? Me thinks from He above!

And, how about all the rest of you,
Can you detail just how and why
You have breath and all the rest of
Things taken for granted, as do I?

The sunrise every morning, every
Month and year., the stars at night;
We assume so much is constant
We have faith that we are right.

We go to work, we go to school
We have faith that’s what to do
To provide for those near us and
We have faith in the future, too.

Of course, there are the pessimists
Who have no faith, at least they say.
They don’t share my optimism that
In general, most things will be O.K.

I am no fool. I have known my tears,
I have lost a few along life’s journey
But, I’ve faith in future adventure
And I’ll live it – til my bed is gurney.

Ah, but then, my faith matters most,
To believe an eternal life will follow
He’ll be the judge of that, but I’ve
Faith His promise is not hollow.

My Faith writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt
Write a poem of any type about your faith.

Me writing a poem about faith would certainly cause some debate, if not consternation, from some preachers and teachers I've known. But, I would not have reached this age and happiness without it. And, truly, would not be so at peace at my age...
