Merry Christmas

by Jean Hornby

Christmas comes but once a year,
Its the offical time to love
And put pause on a world of tears.

Fake smiles cover sadness
Teetotal ones can get drunk,
Slimming goes out the window
To welcome food of junk.

"Oh ho ho" beams father Christmas,
"Oh my" gleams Mrs Clause.

As people want to love thy neighbour
Instead of loving war.

Presents, smiles and laughter,
Drink and mountains of food.

Let's welcome this once a year time to be happy,

And turn on the Christmas mood.

Merry Christmas !
