Searching For Solitude

by Jewell McChesney

Where do I find a silent place
Free of life's most hectic race
Where quiet is the song that sings
In melodies where peace still rings

Imagine life before the seed
Anticipating force through reed
Bursting out at break of day
Announcing dawn's redeeming ray

At twilight nature takes a chance
While wildflower fields will dance
Beneath a sky of light abound
Reflecting drink of dew-drenched ground

Would I hear the moon ascend
Or touch divinity's amend
Sense the sun before it shines
Where warmth was birthed by grand design

I seek a pleasant place within
Where introspection meets my whim
A dreamer some may label me
My soul can sing and I am free

To sing the song of morning's bliss
I close my eyes and reminisce
In memories made before my time
When life birthed love in plans sublime
