Seasons of Love and Marriage - I

Seasons of Love & Marriage                  I Puppy dog tail wagging ... Yes, that's the first thing that comes to this aging mind reflecting on a bygone time. A time when young boys began seeing girls in pigtails, through a different lens. That moment when taking, an extra bath and slicking down the hair, with special care to wash extra hard behind the ears was, one thought, wise. Because, just by chance, she would dance. Man, oh, man! When one got to twirl the girl; there be some whooping, and hollering all the way back to the farm. Lordy, if you got a peck on the cheek, Well, heck! You'd likely not wash your face for a month. Lifetimes ago, it now seems! When this young boy suddenly became a man and experienced, the pain of his first rejection, when the girl of his tender dreams chose his best friend ... then, he realized, deep down, that puppy love was going to come and go, and just like the four seasons, some seasons would be sweet; others would be bitter.
