Pain wilts the heart at its core.
Beth's Voyage

The pouring rain hid Beth's tears. Her boat slammed hard against the incoming towering waves as it was dragged out to sea. The pain in her heart pushed back at her so hard that all other life aspects faded into nothing. It didn't matter if she escaped this storm; nothing was left for her; she'd made sure of that. There was no forgiveness for her, not from them or herself. Taking one last breath, Beth gave herself to the ocean.
