Walk, Do Not Run

"What's that old coot doing on a treadmill? You've seen him on the track. He can barely walk. In fact, he wobbles, can't stay within the lines."

"You should talk, Mabel. You crawl along on that walker."

"But I use one. He should, too."

"I think you're jealous. You're scared to death to try that machine."

"You bet I am! I'd fall right off . . . and I'm not jealous. Just worried."

"About him? You don't even know him."

"I do in a way. He's here every day."

"Like us."

"And he always says hello . . . and smiles."

"He's smiling now. At you!"
