I woke up this morning
Pressing hard on my mind
Wanting to believe it was 
The start of a fabulous day

 

The morning grew into lunch
And lunch weaned itself
From the balance of the day
That's when the churning inside began

 

 

I started to fall apart

Falling apart

Everywhere I look around me

                                      Is falling apart

 

I struggle to push the doubts
Out the nearest window
Catching familiar faces, frozen 
Thinking they can check me out

 

And later, still trying
To check me out
Have they fallen apart?
Is everywhere around them

Continuously, falling apart?

                            Falling apart

Mysteriously and silently   
Hiding from their fate
 Before they succumb to

The inevitable event that's in waiting

They've had a head start
