A Poem

Self Doubt

I lived my life following all others
adorning greatness granted my brothers
with pathways of friends easier to climb 
I lived my life within transcient minds
 
alone in the dark, I'd ask for a light
unwilling to stand by myself upright
waiting directions from those I depend
alone in the dark, I beckoned my friends
 
to sing their songs which all words I recall
out loud I would join their chorus to all
"now found is the man whose oats he has sewn"
to sing their songs gave me voice of my own
 
to realise alone I'd find my way
no longer a need on others to prey
