I can feel her when I ask for her support.

Alana

by HarryT

She was only twenty-nine
Had many continuing problems
Stricken as she was hitting her prime
Leaving her with a mental capacity of three

Nourishment through a feeding tube incision
Bed-ridden, no movement of her limbs or tongue
Her mother had to make a terrible decision
Her heart bleed, before Alana had said,

“I know I’m sick, Mom, stay calm,
I don’t want to be a vegetable
Do what it is necessary. I love you, Mom.”
With a sobbing heart Mom gave in

I know Alana is in heaven and cares
She was an avid bowler like me
Ask her to help me pick up spares
I thank her after every conversion
