100 word story
Days of Youth
by zanya
Pale dawn light streamed through the curtain. Zach awoke with a start. All was eerily quiet.
Grabbing his phone from the bedside table, he leaned on the touch screen. Without success.
He made his way to the kitchenette in his student apartment. He flicked the switch on his coffee maker. No response.
Brushing his blond locks aside, he shivered.
No street lights flickered in the Parisian suburb.
"Dammit," he muttered," is this what Grandpa meant by history repeating itself with another war in Europe?"
He hoped he wouldn't have to cancel streaming of 'Ardrome 2 with his pals.
Zach was irked.
