Once My Dazzling Star

by HarryT

Once my blazing star dazzling in my firmament
A delicious pleasure, a brilliant thing of coveted dreams
Your celestial beams pierced deep into my eyes

Your lips dripped Bacchus’s intoxicating gift
When hungering for your lips, I can only wish
Only in dreams now do I taste your sweet wine

I shout on the wind, my forlorn words fall dim
Because you surrendered your brillance to another
My sky churning dark with vile storm clouds

So treasured are you, my light, my star
Still the very thought of you has the
Power to warm my lonely mind
