Walking Through The Cemetery

by jaybird1

I walk amidst gardens of stone,
beneath lie many I have known.
I still can see them in my mind,
they lived and died before my time.

Kinfolk, parents, friends I knew,
lie there in silence, their days through.
Lives of joy dimmed when days were dark,
but, they made it and left their mark.

This makes me sad and sometimes blue.
They were the same as me and you.
My love for them will always be,
lingering through eternity.

I oft wish to see them again,
yet, know that death shall always win.
I'll hold them in my memory,
my love for them shall always be.
