Voice of the minorities

Minorities Speak

by Charity Stewart

The voice of the minorities finally speak.

Hate, violence and racism will forever reek.

Nothing in life is created equal.

Minorities are treated as a different class of people.

All races unable to work as a team.

Maybe Martin Luther King didn't really have a dream.

A product of our environment so it's not our fault.

Falsely convicted so the truth is buried in a vault.

Hidden in the crowd, they can't see beyond our skin.

Slavery still among us just like back then.

Police pulling us over for no reason.

Abusing their power is a form of treason.

Crooked cops asking me for my license and registration.

Inequality shines strong on the Blacks, Mexican and Haitians.

It shines strong on the minority races.

We will always be judged by the color on our faces.

They can't see us for the greatness deep within.

Injustice seems to be the police best friend.

My people use to have to sit on the back of the bus.

When it's violence in our city they always blame us.

Society believes we are ignorant, violent and uneducated.

In reality we are the beauty that God created.

In many ways I feel like we are underrated.

Please tell me why we are strongly hated?

The reporters shame us when we start a riot.

How can you blame us, we are so sick and tired.

The government never attempted to better our community.

How the hell can you say we stand in unity.

Slavery still exists just in a different form.

Racism and discrimination is society's norm.

I have to work twice as hard to achieve my dreams.

Us against the world but we will survive by all means.

Society shames us when we sell drugs and steal to survive.

More violence, less resources is the reason we are deprived.

Black and white is more than a shade of color.

Prejudice disease spreading, you better put on a rubber.

Jews persecuted in concentrated camps.

Makes me sick to my stomach, I'm starting to have cramps.

Mexicans working multiple jobs for small wages.

Most people don't tip good so our jobs should give us raises.

The government forced Hawaii to become a state.

Hawaii wanted to be independent so it's not up for debate.

Turning Hawaii into a tourist attraction.

Diminishing the beauty of the island, we have to take action.

Hawaiians living in the hood instead of Beverly hills.

Living on top of each other like roaches just to pay the bills.

Chicago was once called the melting pot.

Our bleeding hearts are finally starting to clot.

We know how it feels to wash up in a sink.

We know how it feels to buy groceries off a link.

Wrongly convicted but still asking for repentance.

Locked up for petty stuff, the court should lower the sentence.

Prejudice minds will always view us as slaves.

Many of us are incarcerated like hyenas in caves.

Voices of the minorities speak loud and clear.

Fighting for our rights to the death, we have no fear.
