Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level
a poem

Happy Birthday, Kathy

So happy, Kathy, you are here with me,

in case you forgot, you are 73.

It has been another year for the books,

through COVID and bypass, you've kept your good looks.


For travel today we will -- stay here at home,

while all those who love you say so on the phone.

Your kids and grandchildren will visit you here,

with presents and pizza and a big birthday cheer.


We will sing "Happy Birthday" with ice cream and cake,

and candles numbering -- whatever it takes.

We'll show how we love you with words and then some,

and honor this day and more to come.
