Last year I lost a good friend named Jet,
we met 5 years ago via internet.

I was nervous being a newbie on that discussion site
but Jet sent a kind welcoming post to break the ice.

His best board mate Nex is from the Netherlands,
Star Trek was our common love,
yet often the boys spoke about their favourite rock bands.

Two years ago Jet turned sixty,
we all sent him cheers, virtual beers and a nip of whiskey.

He told us that his health was in decline,
that he was also going blind.

His sudden passing was a big blow
and for days the tears flowed.

I posted a page with all his threads,
a way to keep his thoughts and humour alive now that he was dead

It's also a reminder of our friendship, so vast,
a remembrance page that over the years will last.

Writing Prompt
Write a poem that begins and ends with the same word.

Jetfire s love for all Star Trek related things , was contagious .. he rewrote the dialogue for : The Doomsday Machine ..and he posted it on the board,
he had talent.

He loved Rock and Roll and often posted threads together with Nex .. I learnt a lot about music thanks to them.

His spaceship collection was impressive.

But above all he was generous and kind to all.
