There's a poet in each of us
For many it is suppressed
Sometimes let it be by
And not try to apply
Drowning in the fear
We might not be Shakespeare
Have us deterred
To put down our words

However, what we get on the lean
To gain the discipline
By common incite
To quench a muse appetite
Has an inclination
While raising the inspiration
In daily treatment
To find hidden talents

As it carries on in nurture
Becoming second nature
It ties you by a tread
To those in which it is inbred
And that in quest
Of a litmus test
Elevates the expectation
Of an artist expression

To that within
Yet not in the genes
Is but writing your thoughts
Philosophy and love don't have to be the gamut
That stand as being creative
Just verse as life lived
And trust its process
To connect you to the universe
