Unremarkable incident hyperbolically transformed
From Fact to Fiction in a FLASH
by Elizabeth Emerald
Sunday morning, my friend Scott was in his yard chatting with a neighbor, who noticed a small hole in the dirt, around which buzzed a pair of bumblebees. Scott surmised that a skunk had dug it.
Sunday evening, another neighbor stopped by to say he'd heard all about the gigantic Grizzly bear, who'd torn a humongous crater in Scott's yard, sucked up a nest of bees, then took off, ending up three towns north, at Eastern Savings Bank, on the grounds of which he proceeded to consume a large llama.
True story about a false story about a true story.
