Most people would define ecophobia as a “fear of environmental change.” It's original meaning, however, is: “fear of one’s home.”
I own a four-story house with a main entrance above street level. While I don’t fear my home, I must respect the challenge it offers me.
I’m 74, walk with two canes...my house has no elevator. Therefore, I choose to be elevated by gin martinis and gently arrive intact with a sherry. Luckily, my garden floats at ground level.
