A story of Loss

Memory Lane

by kahpot

as I wandered down memory lane
visions of love from distance came
in moments of warmth time recalled
hearts uniting, unbound, enthralled

a photo carried unfolds those years
as memory lane holds back the tears

the sun still shines yet not as bright
nights are darker, without love's light
I stumble now from time to time
my strength's buried in a box of pine

a speeding car destroyed those years
"now" memory lane floods with tears
