When I was young
I was an Empath
I cancelled that

Too many objected
misunderstood
I was too odd

One man accused me
of raping his mind
with my inquisitiveness

So I stumbled on
a path most traveled
alone and wounded

I am feeling of late
in my Golden years
a returning

A gentleness
long un-felt
an easing in my heart

A return
not only to diapers
but a caring

I always understood
this life was never meant
to be a heaven

That comes later
it is a returning
to the beginning

Back to the arms
of the Lord
where I began
