Camellias bloom

by Janet Foor

Camellias bloom along the garden walk
reminding me of springtime long ago.
The time you walked me home, that moment when
we knew that we would be forever one.

Warm breezes blew across last winter’s grass
that gently swayed as if it knew the song.
That lullaby you sang and sang again
the evening when our baby boy was born.

A Cherry blossom falls across my path.
Another branch of flowers cascade down.
At evensong, a robin sweetly sings
while daylight fades into the hues of night.

Bright stars appear across the Milky Way.
They shine and shimmer in the velvet sky.
A cricket chirps beneath my windowsill
and whispering your name, I fall asleep.

This is one that started in one direction and quickly went in another. Funny how that works sometimes.
