The Parties are not our Country

by Leann DS

Interests ground in might and money,
Not so different from the other,
Promised world of milk and honey.
Interests ground in might and money.
Portrayed outlooks bright and sunny.
Pitting sister against brother,
Interests ground in might and money,
Not so different from the other.

Wealth and power at all costs,
Just like the other party's goal.
No matter what the people lost,
Wealth and power at all costs.
Divert attention, freedoms tossed.
Anything to keep control.
Wealth and power at all costs,
Just like the other party's goal.

We, the people, need to stand
Against machines of evil greed.
All united hand in hand,
We the people need to stand,
To fight, as one, for our great land.
Together bound, we will succeed.
We, the people, need to stand,
Against machines of evil greed.

Nice U.S. Political Poem writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt
Okay, so here's a challenge for you!

Write a three stanza poem about Democrats, Republicans, and what you want for this country.

Here are the terms:

There should be one stanza about Democrats with ABSOLUTELY NO insults, passive aggressive statements, or sarcasm.

One stanza about Republicans with ABSOLUTELY NO insults, passive aggressive statements, or sarcasm.

Third stanza should be about what you want for the United States. You do not have to live here or be from here to participate in this contest.

All three stanza should be equal in length.

I want to see positivity. If it helps keep in mind the golden rule

"If you can't think of anything nice to say, then say nothing at all."

I will be monitoring this contest myself. What I say goes.

Please note: if anyone compares anyone to a nazi they will be automatically disqualified.

The Democratic and Republican parties are in reality, private, non-profit corporations that are in no way a part of the Government of the United States, and they are in no way a part of the Constitution. Each party works hard to portray the illusion of a two party system, and we are so used to this idea that we do not even realize what is going on. Both parties have many similarities, more so than differences; the main difference is how they express themselves to try to win each of us over. They are both actually a part of the business party. If we could get more people to realize these truths and Band together, our country could truly unite as our forefathers planned. God bless the USA.
