Oh God, my God

by Benny Beeharry

What shall I write about today?
Every thing is so trite,

My faith is on trial,
My God is receding,
Bleeding and full of tears
Leaving the field open to evil.

I saw on Tv
A man being bludgeoned for telling and supporting the truth,
A woman dragged,

There is their truth,
And there is my truth.
What's that bloody thing?
Never knew it.

Yet it was there all the time
The thing that sustains my heart beat,
And has never ceased to hold my atoms together.
Never fails to embellish the flowers.

The same that beyond the fringes of ignorance
Writes new paths to transcendental freedom
The same that at night,
Comforts my sleepless heart

This is a time when tongue out, Power and greed
Screech with witching gusto.
And sadiscally watch the claws of greed dig
Into the flesh of innocent souls.

God , oh my God
Take me back to where I once belonged.
There having nothing, I rejoiced in plenty.
We will all go back to the Cross again one day,

Forgive me father
I know not what I did,
What hypocrisy!
You bloody well did!
