"From Wence first there was the Light...
"Comes the Darkness"
(Theology 54.20)

She was born during a time of Severe Depression.
A Miner's daughter and an only child.
Born within the Darkness of a Coal Mine.
...
And as time progressed?
I must now stress as if dressed in a "Shroud of Coal Dust?"
"Ashes to Ashes"
"Dust to Dust"
"No God in We Trust?"
...
And yes these were simple times in Illinois.
You were either a Farmer or a Coal Miner.
And yes, you did as you must.
And, eventually...
"In God We Must All Trust"
...
Yes Sam was a hard-working man.
And yes, he lost his wife and he's trying the best that he can.
The best that he can to raise a young daughter.
A young daughter...
A Coal Miner's daughter.
...
Lura Lynn Ryan was born on July 5th, 1934.
And yes!
A poor Coal Miners daughter but with the most Beautiful Baby-Blue eyes that you would ever see!
...
Now, in the small town of Kankakee.
At the time there was a school that was faultering from a lack of qualified teachers.
Yes, so she was basically.
"Home-schooled."
By a father with a first grade education.
...
She would go with her dad occasionally into the depths of the mines.
And, as he would work.
She would write.
Yes, journal in her diary.
And, at the end of the day?
When there was Very, Little, light left.
I must now say.
She would pray...
Yes pray to be able to write!
Yes, pray that one day...
She would becoming a wonderful writer!
...
"From whence first there was the Light...
"Comes the Darkness"
...
Kankakee was a small town of only 506.
The best thing about it was the fact that coal was plentiful and easy to access.
But with any industry.
Yes, it had its faults during that time period.
That time period when people who mined were played with the "Black Lung Disease"
...
And, Lura's father began suffering from the after effects after a almost 20-year career of coal mining.
And, soon she would be left in the darkness all alone.
End Of Chapter Number One.
