Seasonal Journey Through Life
Poetry Contest
Select one or more of the following prompts to write a poem and metaphor that shares a piece of your life. Any form of poetry and length allowed. Poems will not be blind because the purpose is to learn more about you, through the seasons....
1. Summertime Shines: Which person in your life brings you the greatest joy through warmth, like the pleasurable rays of the sun beating down, causing you to bask in their warming glow?
2. Autumn Leaves Fall: What event in your life was a turning point leading from warm sunny days to a realization that leaves change colors, flowers die and life goes dormant until spring arrives again?
3. Winter Chills: What do you do to ward off the chills of a cold winter day? How do you create optimism in your life when it seems that everything around you is bleak?
4. Spring Renews: Describe a situation where your life was renewed through the introduction of a person or event that caused you to bloom again with renewed energy, bursting through the soil of the earth.
5. Holidays: As you reflect on the different seasons and holidays, which holiday best describes you and why?
The contest winner will win half of the prize pool of 90.00 member dollars. In this contest at least 5 submissions must be made for the vote to begin.
