Playing with a Theme

Hello everyone

Today we are playing with concepts and themes. Below you will find a list of phrases. Your job as a contestant is to write an original piece of prose that incorporates the concept or theme of one of these phrases. It is up to you to interpret the theme. Be creative. Be original. Be unique. Most importantly make sure that the theme or concept is clear to the reader. Don't leave the reader thinking,"How does that show...?"

Here are the rules:

1) Choose one of the themes below and write an original interesting piece of PROSE that demonstrates your interpretation of the theme. It does not have to be a literal interpretation. Metaphorical interpretations work well too. You must use author notes to inform the reader which theme you've chosen.

2) Must be SPAG free at the time of the voting. Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar errors.

3) Prose must be a minimum of 800 words and a maximum of 8000 words.

4) All genres are welcomed. Use appropriate warnings when needed. NO POETRY.

Now that we have, the rules out of the way here are your themes.

1) things that hang in trees
2) conversations with other women
3) memories of green
4) 300 days of spinning
5) straight shots and curvy roads
6) dancing in red.

There you have it. If you have any questions, concerns or whatever just drop me a line.

Happy writing
Michelle
