Poetry Contest
Compose a FREE VERSE poem on the topic ~ July 4th, USA

READ ALL RULES--some may show only on contest page
1. Author's name displayed
2. Dedication and title may be included with text of poem. They do NOT count towards number of lines allowed. [optional]
3. Author may sign and date poem at bottom--does NOT count towards number of lines allowed--up to 3 lines may be added. [optional]
4. LENGTH--maximum of 22 lines ~ no haibun, 575 suite, haiku suite, acrostic, sonnet, or any kind of suite of short poems / WRITE TOTAL NUMBER OF LINES IN AUTHOR NOTES as AUTHOR NOTES ACCEPTABLE
5. ONE picture above text of poem / ONE color font/ONE color background
6. NO animations WITH TEXT PICTURE
7.TOPIC (subject) poem MUST be about July 4th in the USA
8. Category--War & History
9. Do NOT have any END RHYME PATTERN although rhymes may be used elsewhere
in text of poem and/or scattered end rhymes may appear [optional]
10. NO warnings of any kind will be accepted--although references to war may be used without adding warning note
11. Author Notes may include ONE (1) video
12. A MINIMUM of 2 entries must be posted before contest goes to booth



The contest winner will win half of the prize pool which is based on the number of entries. The second and third place winners will each share the remaining prize pool. The prize pool is currently 25.00 member dollars. There are 13 spots still open. If all open spots are used the prize pool will be 90.00 member dollars. In this contest at least 2 submissions must be made for the vote to begin.
