irishestep: I have been writing poetry since I was 15 (30 years ago). I have never tried to publish anything I have written; I mostly write for the fun and comfort of it. I read poetry on a continual basis. I love Shakespeare's sonnets, Frost's nature poems, T. Roethke's home poems, and many others. I am obsessed with autobiographies; the best autobiography that I have read recently is Angela's Ashes (winner of Pulitizer Prize) by Frank McCourt, who died last summer. I wish I could have met him. I am in the process of writing my autobiography--not necessarily for publishing. Any reviews that I write for poems that I read on this website are purely honest and are meant to help; I always want to see people become better writers, since I dearly love the art. |
