So when a country becomes 'fragmented into isolated disillusion. ' you think it's a good idea to let the mentally disturbed fragments carry assault rifles around?

You're ducking the question. Fewer guns means fewer gun deaths.

Michael, of course you are not personally responsible, but you and people like you have a chance to ease the problem - push for tighter gun-control regulations and I guarantee you will save lives.

no....
what I say is its high time for an all out recognition and concentrated effort to unite America under one flag...to teach again its truth to our children, to collectively understand it is essential to our and every Countries stability. instilling in time a sacred honoring of home and family. there is too many guns now. you'll only succeed in preventing the poor from protecting themselves legally.

Firstly, I notice that the above video is entitled "15 year old girl leaves anti-gun politicians speechless". This is typical of the lies, nonsense and stupid empty rhetoric employed by the gun lobby and their supporters.

The video shows a girl reading from a speech (prepared by whom, I wonder?) It does not show what happened afterwards, and it certainly doesn't show crowds of anti-gun advocates floundering around dumbfounded at the brilliance of her arguments. So why put a dishonest, misleading title on the video?

Secondly, congratulations to the young lady that she is actually able to read and speak with a good degree of clarity and excellent diction. It's a pity that, according to her, she would have been unable to get a decent education if she hadn't been a gun freak.

The points in the speech from which she is reading have been debunked a million times as spurious. Her belaboured example of Chicago proves nothing, except that unless you have national gun laws it is a pointless exercise.

Were you really impressed by this, recon?

It's a different planet there, recon. One where more and more people die needlessly every day.

By the way, I'm not a kiwi - that would be Steve. But it's probably all the same to you Canadians, right?

(with sincere apologies to Gloria and Ingrid).

Geezus Murphy!! Doesn't anybody like doing IQ tests around here anymore?! I hope Trump realizes you have to take these tests every year cause they keep getting harder and harder. My starting IQ at age 11 of 287 has dropped over the years. Personally I think the tests are getting tougher. ;-) For instance back in the day spatial questions weren't 3D.

Which reminds me, I absolutely detest multiple choice questions because they mess with my OCD, and you will find some of those answers are WRONG even the correct ones.

What a coincidence, mine was 87 2, when I was 11. Love multiple choice and can pass ANY multiple choice test. I can figure out the answers even though I don't know what any of it means. THAT is smart.

Michael, please unfold your multitudes. I'm pretty sure that for every example you can give of gun ownership saving a life, I'll be able to provide 10 where gun ownership cost lives...

So you are content that people are dying because of the policy that you support? That's not being histrionic or overly dramatic. It's a simple fact.

The people of NZ aren't that different from the people of the US. We were colonised by the same country. We faced some turbulent times as a young country and had to fight wars against the native inhabitants. We are basically a christian country and we have welcomed immigrants from many other places over the years. You may be better at baseball and basketball, but we are better at rugby and sailing.

What we don't have is a paranoia that our government is going to oppress us. Actually, I don't believe most Americans have that either, but it's sure a jim-dandy excuse for having an arsenal of weapons around the house.

A book by our own Alec Gould.

One man's take on life told thru humorous short stories from his childhood on into his mid-50's; from feeling like an outcast in school to being an adult. His intent: hope. The 23rd Annual Book Awards said:
"We Really Need To Laugh" shares “memories which will resonate with many readers. Overall a creative presentation of the author’s life given in a rather sing-song poetic story telling style; a pleasant read"
