Gloria, Just to reinforce ... I cannot smoke ANYWHERE for the most part without getting a ticket.

However, I CAN get a gun and stroll down to the local bar, down half a dozen double black Russians and wait for someone to tell me to get a haircut.

One of Trump's lovely executive orders was to give non-profits carte blance to donate to political causes and candidates.

Cheeky is a kind way to put it. I'm beginning to think that "we, the people" may not have any say in any of this at all. Either that or we're pretty damned stupid.

Well, I'm sure I'm just some radical minority running wild in the desert. So, let's hear from some REAL Americans.

EDIT TO ADD:

As far as Canadians, Brits or anyone else commenting on U.S. matters ... ahem ... since we elected the fool that may blow all of you up, I guess that gives you SOME small say in what the hell we are doing over here. LOL

Nah, that's how successful democracies work, by forging logical mettle in debate.

And here's the great news for today. In addition to all the other people Trump has challenged to an IQ test, Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson is now on the list.

Let's do this! IQ tests all around with every participant (including the president) in one large room under supervision completing an identical test. Hey, it's something to do, yes?

I thought Jesus had long hair.

Geeze you're violent, Recon. First you want to blow Canada up, then give us a hit to the carotid artery, handicap us and then stone us.

You saw Jesus in person? Wow! That's a miracle.

I will probably get shot down (ha ha) in flames for saying this, but someone has got to say it.

This is a question for anyone here who supports the interpretation of the second amendment as it is currently...

Do you enjoy seeing your fellow Americans cut down in a hail of bullets? Did you stand and cheer the actions of Stephen Paddock in mowing down 58 + innocent concert-goers and destroying the lives of hundreds of others, as another great triumph of American democracy?

Don't you see that you are demeaning your country in the eyes of the rest of the world, not only making it a mockery and a laughing-stock, but also holding it up as a prime example of putrid political corruption where big money and self-interest determines policy.

While it is sad to see a once-great nation slide towards its inevitable downfall, you have only yourselves to blame. You allow those who are supposed to be your leaders kowtow to anyone who gifts them a seat, ignoring the wishes of the majority of decent citizens.

Kudos to any who speak up against this corruption in any way or who make a principled stand against this monumental stupidity. And those who continue to support it in the face of all evidence, you should bear the deaths and pain and suffering of thousands on your conscience.

well as stupid questions present themselves in human formed vowels...so too are answers not so simple. Hey Steve....guess what...-smile-...we live in a violent world.
and protecting yourself from it becomes more and more constant and necessary. more restriction would only effect law abiding citizens. leaving us vulnerable to criminal elements. America was born and raised on gun ownership...and right to defend. it is saturated in our society for good reason....and shaming US for not trusting our government to protect us pisses US off after we stop laughing-

You say 'more restriction would only effect law abiding citizens.'

Again ALL available evidence proves that this is wrong. Of course many of the gun deaths are accidental, caused by careless use of those unrestricted weapons. How many toddlers shot their mothers this week?

And didn't nearly every country start as gun (weapon) toting societies. Most of us have grown up.

One more time, say it with feeling... FEWER GUNS MEANS FEWER GUN DEATHS!

It's simple cause and effect. The fact that you don't get it is what makes me so angry. People are dying. You have had the solution staring you in the face for so long and you refuse to do anything about it. That's why deaths are on your hands.

Im not responsible for societies mental health unless you and every other member is willing to accept the responsibility also. you know when I was a kid...though America was packing even then as always...this kind of thing was almost unheard of. I think its what happens when a United State becomes fragmented into isolated disillusion.
