My willow oak’s my favorite tree.
The perfect shape a sight to see,
and colors changing beautifully,
a Fall feast for my eyes.
 
This tree was planted as a gift
when breezes caused the seed to drift,
and once ‘twas sown, the growth was swift,
and Nature’s true surprise
 
These many years, still standing strong
with spreading branches thick and long,
the perfect place of morning song
when early birds arise.
 
When day is done, their nests await,
and they return to chicks and mate,
the air is filled with chirping prate
beneath the ebon skies.
