She'd Shamed Them So.
by Sandra Stoner-Mitchell
She sat beside the window looking sad
Whilst those around her naturally were glad Her wedding day had loomed so very fast But she was still in love with one who'd passed. That day he'd come to take her for his own Her happiness was such her heart had flown To bring him ever faster to her side Where she was waiting, soon to be his bride. Her happiness was never meant to be An accident had happened...fatally She was with child, who now would never know The father whom she knew would love her so. And now she sits and waits with breaking heart Though no one knew, her soul was torn apart Today she'd wed a man she didn't know Because her parents said she'd shamed them so. To her it didn't matter whom she wed Her heart belonged to one who was now dead. ~*~*~*~*~*~ |
