I am married with two sons and three lovely grandchildren. I lived in Spain for eleven years. Now I have returned home to Southampton, in the UK. I have been writing poetry since forever! My first childrens book was published a year ago and now I have a spiritual book of poetry and a book of short stories.
I have made so many lovely friends on here, I would be lost now without you all. You have all been really wonderful. xxxxxx

sandramitchell: I want to thank everyone on FanStory for their kind prayers and thoughts during my sad time. You are all wonderful people. I want to ask for your patience a little longer, I will be so busy arranging my mum's funeral and sorting out her things I won't have much time for reviewing. God bless all of you. Sandra. xsx

Lovinia: Thinking of you Sandra ... such a sad time for you and your family. My prayers and best wishes. So fortunate you moved and had some time with her before her passing.

A small ray of happiness through the dark time .. also congratulations on placing in the Story of the Month.

Your mother would have been so proud of you, as I'm sure she was already.
Take care ... something I may be facing in the not too distant future.
    February 24 at 11:38PM
sandramitchell: I do hope it is not imminent, Lovi, I do feel for you, it is the saddest of things to go through. I still keep going to phone her. I will keep you both in my prayers. Thank you for your kind thoughts. xxxx
    February 26 at 1:59PM
Lovinia: I love your huge heart Sandra. Thank you. I believe she is in early stages, yet she is too feisty and in denial so far. The anger is difficult to deal with already. We were close and had a falling out fifteen years ago ... which stole a lot of time from us. I understand your loss, my father died when I was twenty six ... I kept feeling it was unjust that the world kept moving and my dad wasn't in it... so unreal for months ...I kept popping in expecting him to be there with mum. One thing in life we have no say in. At least she is in peace and not suffering. Take care of yourself ... it will take time. Your in my prayers - love Lovi xoxoxoxo

Lovinia: I hope you are well and that all went well for your Mother. Sad for a family holiday so close to your own bereavement. Prayers to all your family ..... thinking of you and sending love and hugs - Lovi xoxoxo

sandramitchell: Hi everyone. Just to let you know I am still around but not coping very well. I can't write or do much of anything. My mother is in a sort of no-mans-land, neither in this world or the next. She is asleep most of the time, which I am grateful for. It breaks my heart to see her like this and not be able to help her. xsx

rama devi: Love and prayers....sending by the ton! sending her peaceful energy is the best gift you can give her right now, and I promise you she can feel it--because I work with dying patients and have witnessed many examples of this truth. People whose bodies are very weak often become more sensitive to and aware of subtle levels. Sending both of you love, light and peace. Hugs, rd

sandramitchell: Well my knee replacement didn't happen! Why? Because I gashed my other leg and they said I would be too susceptible to bugs crawling in and that would not be nice. so key-hole surgery trimming off more bone and cutting away damaged cartilage was done and here I am back home on crutches!! Has anyone else had as wonderful a week-end as me???
November 10 at 9:19AM
Joy Graham: Feel better soon, Sandra. Sending hugs your way!

    Lovinia: Hi Sandra

So sorry about the knee .... I managed to slip and slide on the bitumen the day before leaving for a week's skiing. Damaged both shins so badly it was excruciating in my boots ... I did manage a couple of runs before it was too painful.

I was on crutches with a fractured shin bone for four months, after sis weeks in traction ... and sounds as though we are about the same, my crutch skills never improved. Hmmm ... will knowing this make you feel better???? LOL

Heal fast and heal well my friend.

Merry Christmas and happy holidays to you and your family. so nice for an extra grandchild to enjoy. Children just make christmas, even if they are as old as mine. Hehehehe (In their early twenties).

Some of you are fans of my friend, Sue, her FS name is 'wordsfromsue' She is very, very poorly in hospital with lots of huge blood clots, and, in her own words, a starship size clot on her lung. She needs as many people as she can get to pray for her, the power of prayer is often stronger than medication. So, please, everyone, please pray for her.
August 13 at 4:06AM
Sally Carter: Sandra, I'm afraid I don't "do" prayer. But if you are speaking to Sue, please pass her my very best wishes and say how sorry I am that she is having such a rough time. Thanks for that.

sandramitchell: Hi Sally, yes I will, and, thank you.
    August 13 at 4:41AM
Cumbrianlass: I don't do 'prayer' in the biblical sense either, but my sympathy for her illness and my wish for her complete recovery is genuine.
    August 13 at 8:18AM

sandramitchell: Hi everyone, I'm almost back!! Now in our English home, but still undoing boxes, where did they all come from?!! I seem to have damaged my knee in the move, how? I have missed you all, and can't wait to start writing and reviewing properly again, I will make a start, but you have all been using your keyboard fingers in a frenzy!!!!

sandramitchell: Hi Lovinia, shows how often I look at my profile. The knee, hmmm, not good. I see the orthopaedic surgeon on the 28th of this month. Perhaps I will get some news. Move went ok, but always problems when you change countries as well! :)

sandramitchell: A friend of mine who sent a copy of my book to his daughter told me she is dyslexic and has trouble reading to her own little daughter. She has just phoned her father to tell him she could read my poetry stories, Hedgerow Capers to her without any problems at all! How brilliant is that? She said it was the set rhyme that helped her. If I never sell another book, I will at least know, it has helped one person to read to her daughter. So chuffed!!
February 24 at 11:19AM
Taffspride: Well done. What a great feeling that must be.

sandramitchell: HEDGEROW CAPERS

Hi all, I can't seem to get my book on my profile properly, it comes up out of print, which it isn't! Tom has told me he can't help, it is a problem with Amazon. My book IS on Amazon with the correct details on it. I have had an amazing week reading to little chidren in their schools, and doing book signings in Waterstones Books Shops. I am so sorry about my reviewing, I have loads to catch up on, but I will!!
November 11 at 4:12AM
Anthony Crosbie: It certainly is on Amazon! My copy arrived today and I've just read the first three chapters to Alexander. He loved it!
    November 16 at 3:12PM
sandramitchell: Oh thank you Archie!! I have been so frustrated about this. What do you think of the final look? There was one or two things I would have changed but overall I was very pleased. Thank you for buying it, would you mind writing a review about it. Doesn't have to be a brilliant one, only what you think of it. I would be so grateful. How is your book coming along? I haven't seen any of your work on here lately, are you busy with your book? Not that I have managed to do much either. I will be down your way next year, perhaps we can all have coffee. Thank you again for buying it. Sandra xsx
    November 16 at 4:10PM
Anthony Crosbie: The final look is great. I can't really think of anything I'd have changed. The main thing is the reaction of children and Alexander keeps talking about the characters and going to school so it's struck a chord with him. I'll get a review done for it asap. Very well done though and I'm pleased you're enjoying the celebrity lifestyle and are having fun. I'm struggling with my books. I sent out Raising Ted and Daisy the Dummy Fairy to quite a few publishers and every day I get a rejection e-mail/letter, I'll just keep going, working hard and making sure I enjoy it; hopefully I'll get there. I'm really busy at the moment with work so haven't been able to post anything lately. Did you see that Raising Ted got nominated for story of the month - I even got a vote! Let me know when you're in Devon. It would be lovely to meet for a coffee. Take care and I hope the book sells well over Christmas. Archie x
    November 17 at 1:33AM
sandramitchell: Thank you Archie. Don't give up on Raising Ted, it is such a cute story that children can relate to, especially those who are a little different. Don't forget, JK Rowlings was rejected so many times, and she didn't give up. Some one told me she self published in the end, I don't know if that was true, but if she did, there must be a lot of publishers out there with egg on their faces.
We will probably be back in March, if not before, so I really look forward to meeting you. xsx
    November 17 at 6:25AM
Anthony Crosbie: I won't give up. I really want to get this published but I'll just have to be patient and keep sending the manuscript to publishers. I've been spending so much time worrying about getting published that I've forgot to enjoy my writing. I'm going to write some simple stories and post them; just for the fun of writing them! It'll be lovely to meet you too. x
