At Granny's Knee

I learned a lot at Granny’s knee
like sewing and embroidery,
and how to live life at its best,
to see the good, ignore the rest.
 
She taught me all the things I’d need,
how to avoid temptation’s lead,
and sometimes, folks aren’t what they seem,
so don’t be led by false esteem.
 
There was so much my granny knew
and told me, so I know it, too.
So blessed I was to have that time.
I’ve shared it all with you in rhyme.
