John Crake Aves: I have recently read my poetry at a daycare facility for Alzheimer's disease. I was diagnosed with Alzheimer's seven years ago. The caregivers were very receptive and interested. I hope that poetry might be used more often for stimulating men and women with the disease, either listening or perhaps writing, depending upon the extent of their memory loss. |
