TWEED: My name is Ashley. In July 1969 I left the UK with my wife Jean and our three children, Linda 12, my son Lee 9, and Jillian 6, to start a new life in Australia. My greatest passion is opal mining at a place called White Cliffs NSW, so some of my poems are about opal. I am also trying to write a book I hope to call Not Funny at the Time. It tells about my mishaps on the opal fields. I never struck it rich but there again in the opal world only three know: who found it, who bought it, and God. |
