JMonroe: The James Thayer book recommended by Nor84 finally came. It's called The Essential Guide to Writing a Novel and so far it is pretty darn good. We'll see if I can apply any of this information to improve my story! |

JMonroe: Aaaand... I'm back (again). I am STILL banging out the details of the Camden Curse, but as I've started actually writing the first draft, I figured I would post it up to see how it is received. |

JMonroe: This is the video I chose to go with April 27, 2011. I didn't create this... I borrowed it from Youtube. I would have posted it on the story itself, but I'm not sure how I feel about the music yet. lol |

JMonroe: After a very long, taxing, pretty crappy couple of months. I am finally able to carve out more time for writing! Hopefully I've improved a little. I will say this--during my little involuntary sabbatical, my head was buzzing with story ideas! I had to write them all down in a notebook. I will post some of them soon. :) |

JMonroe: I have to be honest with you... Jillian Monroe is not my real name. It's just a pen name that I use which was inspired by combining the names of my two favorite people- Jillian Michaels and the infamous Marilyn Monroe. Why are they my favorites? Simple. They both seem to burst with confidence, which is exactly what I lack. I noticed that whenever I would write something- me... not Jillian- I would tend to be careful. Too careful. I would be afraid of getting something wrong, or offending someone, or any other number of ridiculous fears. But Jillian... Jillian is fearless. When I write as Jillian the words flow more fiercely. She says exactly what I want to and doesn't care about the consequences. Perhaps one day I'll be brave enough to step out of her shadow... until then, just call me Jill. |

I love the idea behind the pen name. That is going to help me pick mine!! :-) Have you been published? I'd love to be on your list, to get posts when you submit.I am a Big fan. Your writing is similar to my style and I love the mystery that you have going in the last chapter I read. WOW. Excellent work "Jill". :-) rwilliam p.s. I lived in Toccoa Fall, Ga. -
To answer your question... No- I have never been published. I have never been brave enough to send anything in. As a matter of fact... it is extremely unusual for me to post my work here! I have written fanfictions and little things like that before. But those have always been for fun. Not a whole lot of effort went into them. I would type them up real fast and then post them that same day. No editing... no nothing. It was just to get the words out of my system. I put a lot more effort into 2013 though, and the other stories that I have floating around in my head. :) -
