I'm wondering now, why Abby was so intent on pushing Jack for an answer to her question 'what do you believe?' and what her answer would be for that same question. Interesting conversation and a little carrot left dangling at the end, with the blond-haired man below.

My family had a traumatic event once, and the man who was responsible drove a black Cadillac. It was stunning how many black Caddis we aw, or cars that resembled his. Jack's just going through that -- seeing his enemy in every possible stranger. But yeah, I do like dangling carrots. :)

1.) apparently amused that her question (had taken) him so aback.
2.) His voice held a sudden air of hostility. ". She and Cody were ... perfect.
--> lose that period at the beg

If Jack was not merry I could think that there is a romance going around the room with doctor Abby. Anyway thanks for this cleverly done chapter, where you are filling some empty spots from the brother's biography.

I was worried someone might hook them up. lol. That's actually why I let Jack mention that God gave both he and Cody amazing women. I wanted to make it clear that he's still head-ove-rheels with her. :)

Yeah, I really like Abby. She's tough as nails, but has a good heart and loves Jesus. I'd like to be her when I'm grown. lol. (I'm 60, so I think I missed my target! lol)

I think you're right about God giving us Heaven too soon. I grew up in the perfect family -- perfect. We lived in the country, surrounded by ranches and farmland, my mom and dad loved eah other and we were between loving grandparents and an aunt and her two kids. I don't remember my parents fighting, although I now know they did. (Dad would go to Grandmomma and Pops for coffee and Mom would load us kids up in the car and go for a drive. Funny thing is, the grandparents were Momma's parents.) Mom was in the PTA, great cook, baked cookies pretty much daily. Dad was a mmusic minister, we were active in church and they were attentive parents. Did I know that? No.
I guess I thought everyone grew up in Neverland.
I think we'd be ungrateful if God allowed that in our lives, so I agree with you. Of course, a little LESS hardship would sometimes be very appreciated! lol

It sounds like you had a lovely childhood. Most loving parents won't let the children see when they have an argument. But, those arguments aren't the type that create divorces, they are more like one is in a bad mood. Or something silly like that.

Well, you know, the UK has always been a step ahead of the US. You even come before us alphabetically! lol
I remember when I was there on tour, the time difference was an issue to call home after concerts. My folks did NOT appreciate the midnight (or later) calls. ol. Go figure!
