Hello there, Dear Tom.
Long time no see...
Hope all's well with you, my friend.
Indeed we are all seeing great changes around the world and I hope that this new pandemic is snuffed out and very soon...
It's a tough one I think for any government to get things right with this particular monster because it's so new to us all.
I enjoyed reading this new form of poetry and as far as I can tell from your author's notes, the Roger's Refrain is in fine feckle
much love

I think we need to be thankful that this virus was not airborne because if it had been we would all be toast! A well written poem about thwarted dreams and an interrupted lifestyle which I doubt will ever be normal again, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

HI Dolly, Thank you for the review. Sorry it took 3 years to respond. At least the panic about the virus is over. You still on the site?

Yes I am still here!
Comment from Brooklyn J. Frances
This is really powerful. The image of the chaos produced by strong winds is so appropriate for these times, when things are constantly changing and there seems to be more noise than ever before. I think this poem did justice to the suffering associated with this pandemic, while offering a glimmer of hope at the end. Very well done.

Thank you very much Brooklyn. I am pleased by your response as well as the award of 6 stars. I like the back and forth nature this format conveys.

A very well-written Roger's refrain about the winds that seem to blow from every difection and carry seeds of destruction to bring a nation on his knees before te final wind that will sweep the debris away.

Yes, there are strong winds blowing back and forth. There have always been and will always be, but it seems there are more than usual right now.
They bear radically varied names. Your poem is well-written and thought-provoking, timely in its themes.

This is a very sad poem and one we must live with. Normal for us might never be normal again. This poem puts the nations fears into words. Thank you for sharing and stay safe.

I never really feel qualified to review this type of poetry because I cannot write it myself. As near as I can tell, you nailed it. Your illustration, of course, pairs perfectly and sets the stage for your words. This is nicely done.

Brilliant. I never heard of this form, Roger's Refrain, but I have to try it.
Exceptional rhymes, meter and flow. Great use of metaphors and other literary devices. Very nice presentation.
I guessed it's about pandemic, among other things.
Did science lead us all astray?
Predictions changing every day,
of wearing masks the proper way,
forecasted deaths that went astray.
It was a true treat for a rhymed poetry fan in me. Thank you for the journey!

I totally adored the poem that is perfectly executed;-) It's a shame how we have to live these days, but "this to shall pass".
Loved the color scheme you ended up using!
I appreciate and thank you for sharing and may God bless you and your family;-)

Thank you for introducing me to the Roger's Refrain as you continue to probe the impact of the pandemic. I admired your mono-rhymes and repeats. Here's to "rebirth"! Joan
