Allow me to begin with the image, absolutely delightful and so appropriate to your poem. Your poem sits more than comfortably with that one verse of Wordsworth in your notes. Your words flow with delightful rhythm. I enjoyed this very much

Hi Rod. This is lovely. I felt as if I was the one taking a walk. Loved the reference to the deer and the twin fawns. Nicely composed and illustrated. A fine tribute to Wordsworth. He certainly had the right name. Marilyn

Your poem was a pleasure to read. So lilting and filled with great imagery. Your tribute is excellent. The cadence is so much like Wadsworth's. So well done.

"I wandered through a park today
and saw in bloom lush cherry trees.
Like ballerinas they did sway.
With arms aloft and limbs at ease"

Stay safe

This is indeed balm for the soul and spirit at a time like this when we are fretful - replete with scents and scenes from the great healer that is the natural world - Wordsworth's imprimatur would no doubt have been forthcoming

"Like ballerinas they did sway.

What a delightful picture!

"a spotted fawn with flapping tail
flew by me to a flowered vale."
Oh, so vivid!

Well done!

I wish I had had teachers who enjoyed teaching poetry, but evidently none of them did because we sort of breezed through it quickly and went on to other things. (I didn't start studying it on my own until I was 50. Sigh) You've done a super job here presenting your tribute to Wordsworth, and I enjoyed reading it very much.

Where I taught, we used anthologies that had all kinds of theme units, some?not all?including poetry. Some of my colleagues breezed over the poetry and taught mostly prose. Thank you very much, Spangle, for your kind praise. Rod

As I was reading your poem I was thinking of that very thing. This poem reminded me of Wordsworh's poem. It definitely leaves an impression in the mind and heat that the reader can return to during winter. Well done!

And pay tribute you did my friend. An excellent rendition
of the master's mood, style and skill. My senses were flooded
with every stanza as a poem of nature and continuum should
provide. Excellent work poet. tom

You did a beautiful job honoring the romantic poet! Your imagery of pink cherry trees swaying like ballerinas was perfect. And to end with the discovery of a fawn - a sweet surprise! Great tribute.
